Protective netting is being installed in more and more arenas around the world as another way to ensure the safety of spectators and non-participants. Many arena managers follow guidelines similar to those laid out in the document "Suggested Guidelines for Evaluating Arena Boards and Glass" originally published by Ontario Recreation Facilities Association (ORFA) in 2002, and updated in 2009.
