Galvanized steel is not immune to rust. It lasts much longer than paint or unfinished mild steel, but in less than five years rust staining is very evident. The posts can be a tripping hazard.

The anodized aluminum does not rust or oxidize at all The anchoring is within the system and there are no tripping hazards in any location around the boards.

The 1/4” steel hardware is welded onto the boards. How do you replace the hardware when it wears or rusts out?

3/8” polished stainless steel hardware. Easy to replace if it ever wears out. It will not rust. There is no protruding handle, the latch operates by the push button.
