Sport Systems Unlimited Corp., of Waterloo, Ontario is pleased to announce that
The Ice Skating Institute (ISI),
of Plano, TX, has honored
Athletica with the Frank J. Zamboni Award. The award, which is given only occasionally, and at the discretion of the award committee, honors people and companies who have made "significant and lasting contributions to the ice arena industry, especially in the areas of technology, creativity and innovation".
Peter Martell, executive director of ISI commented, "The Ice Skating Institute is pleased to recognize Athletica's technological advancements in the design of dasher boards, improvements and innovations that have significantly improved the safety of hockey players and spectators."
The award was presented by Richard Zamboni, president of
Frank J. Zamboni & Co. to Robert O. Naegele Jr. and Bruce Irving, at a gala ceremony in Orlando on May 26th., coinciding with ISI's 50th anniversary.
In accepting the award, Mr. Naegele commented, "this is a very fitting tribute to the people of Athletica, especially Bruce, who have done so much, and worked so hard to create products that truly distiguish themselves in our marketplace. We are very honored to receive this award."
