We have developed “Anodized Aluminum Arena Boards”. Unlike our competitors, our boards are made with high strength, lightweight, mechanically fastened extruded anodized aluminum tubing. Each component is specially designed to fit together, there are no exposed brackets, anchors or strength supports and nothing to trip over.
Also, unlike our competitors, Sport Systems has not had a name change or a change in management team. The same people that conceived, designed and produced the first Sport Systems’ board system, that has changed an industry, are right here to help you with a vast knowledge of your board system requirements. From our Sales Team, to our Project Consultant Team, to our Installation Team and the installation of your new board system, you will not be disappointed. This is a claim that we have always backed up and you will be no exception.
The finish on the aluminum is clear anodized and is easy to wipe clean and does not rust. A simple cleaning with mild detergent and water regularly is all that is required to maintain it’s beauty indefinitely. The bottom rail provides a straight edge to run a floor cleaning machine along. The appearance is a very clean “high tech” look. These boards are the focal point of the arena.
All of our gate hardware is stainless steel. Stainless steel does not rust and stands up considerably longer and with less wear, than any other affordable material. Moving parts on our hardware shows very little wear in 10 years. It is also replaceable with no cutting or welding as it is secured by removable fasteners. Every fastener, anchor or reinforcing whether concealed or exposed is either aluminum or stainless steel and will not rust. Even the anchors we provide to be cast in the rink slab are stainless steel. These materials are of course more expensive than materials used by other manufacturers. If you have seen a set of Sport Systems Boards, you will recognize them again anywhere.
This is a “one time purchase”, you will never need to replace a set of Sport Systems boards. Owners of these board systems are very happy with the quality appearance, exceptional performance and low maintenance.
We were not satisfied with strictly our own
judgment of quality, strength and performance during our design stages. Hence, we also employed a professional engineering firm to calculate the load strengths and a professional testing company to test our boards in their facility.
When we say we are “Leading The Way”, this is true. We do not do anything like our competition does. Anodized aluminum is a natural for arena boards. It will become increasingly popular as discerning purchasers compare the advantages to that of steel for a similar price. As we “Strive For Excellence” we plan to keep on leading the way.
The Sport Systems Aluminum Dasher Boards are ideal for Multi-Purpose Facilities including Indoor, Outdoor, Hockey, Inline, Figure Skating, Lacrosse and Soccer facilities. A 96" panel weighs 150 pounds, less than half the weight of steel boards. They are scratch resistant and do not rust. Our boards are not welded, the fastenings are concealed. 'Structural aluminum' makes our boards light, but extremely strong and flexible. The same 'structural aluminum' is used for the "curtain wall " on high-rise glass buildings . They are definitely heavy duty.

A little history...In 1995, the best set of boards was the cheapest set of boards. They looked like: wood, steel, plywood, bent, rusty after a year and mostly looked “homemade”. The doors rarely worked well. The quality of the installations varied drastically even by the same manufacturer. It was impossible to tell what manufacturer made them, because they were all copies of someone else's. Facility owners expected to spend thousands each year to replace sections, screws and refurbish etc. It was just part of the cost to operate an arena. Were we “out of our minds” to introduce a high quality, great looking and more expensive product to this market? At times we thought so. But, as we made progress, one happy forward thinking customer led to another, architects and engineers began to discover us, entire cities and large portions of States and Provinces began to invest only in the higher quality of Sport Systems Boards. The same effect is happening in other countries around the world. Sport Systems’ Boards are increasingly becoming the minimum standard for acceptable board systems. Are we happy about this? You bet we are! With our extensive number of board systems sold and operational, Sport Systems Boards are proven in the industry.
